Stroke Awareness Oregon — a nonprofit created by physicians, stroke patients and community members — exists to make a real difference. Stroke treatment and care is seeing advances but challenges still exist. A person hit by a stroke often arrives too late to fully benefit from new medical advances. People surviving a stroke and completing rehabilitation are returned to the community without clear direction, follow-up or support.
