Deschutes County Search and Rescue Foundation
The Foundation’s mission is to increase resources, raise funds, and promote public awareness in support of Search and Rescue (SAR) volunteer activities conducted by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office. SAR services are provided free of charge to Deschutes County residents and visitors, including lost person searches, mountain and swiftwater rescues, medical emergencies, and wildfire evacuations. DCSAR consists of 120+ volunteers in multiple specialty teams, that respond to over 100 missions every year and contribute more than 30,000 hours annually to missions, training and community events. Funds raised by the Foundation provide needed training, equipment, and mission support to SAR volunteers.
