Although parents find their way to FRC for many different reasons – to connect with other parents – support their child’s development – or to fulfill a requirement set by the court – whatever their reason, they are welcomed and treated with respect and compassion.
Sheena, a single mom of three shares a message of gratitude –
“I was struggling financially & emotionally after losing my job in March. Things got ugly for a while, but then I was connected to a home visitor from FRC. She dropped off diapers and food, helped us with home school for my kids, and even got us connected to the internet. She helped me with my 3-year old’s tantrums and helped me set up routines for all of us. But mostly, she listened to me, and showed me there was hope, and when you choose hope, anything is possible.”
Parents need support, they need connection, and they need to know they are not alone. It’s easier to keep putting one foot in front of the other when you have a community of support and a place to turn to. When you support Family Resource Center, you give more parents access to a balance of knowledge, skills, and most importantly, you help those struggling with the basics.
